Why electronics cleanrooms need dedicated gloves
In SMT, assembly, optics or semiconductor workshops, gloves touch PCBs, lenses and wafers directly. Which processes it suits
- Handling sharp-edged parts: aluminum frames, sheet metal, PCBs after V-cut. A 0.14–0.15 mm fingertip tears less than 0.08–0.09 mm gloves.
- IPA wiping, flux cleaning, packing, tray loading: tasks repeated many times per shift in ISO 6–8 areas.
- Not suitable when: picking small components (thick gloves reduce touch sensitivity); ISO 5 areas need Nitrilstat LE or Shirudo DC; EPAs that require ESD measurements while worn should choose Shirudo OC.
