Insulating hot stick price list (VND per stick, excl. 8% VAT)
| Type | Construction | Price |
|---|---|---|
| 35 kV stick | 3 telescopic sections, 4 m long | 1,860,000 – 2,400,000 |
| 110 kV stick | 3 telescopic sections, 5 m long | 2,400,000 – 2,760,000 |
| 220 kV stick | 4 telescopic sections, 6 m long | 3,240,000 |
The price range depends on the manufacturer and the type of stick head (hook, clamp, twist head). State the intended use when requesting a quote so PRIMEAG can select the right head.
Indicative prices, excluding 8% VAT, delivered in Ho Chi Minh City; exact prices depend on quantity and stock at the time of quotation. Export processing enterprises (EPE): VAT 0% invoice, and PRIMEAG handles the on-the-spot import/export customs declaration for orders from 20,000,000 VND.
How to choose
- Voltage class: equal to or higher than the network voltage; never use a 35 kV stick on a 110 kV network, even if it is long enough.
- Length: sufficient for the operator to stand outside the safe distance from live parts required by current electrical safety regulations; telescopic sticks retract for storage and extend for use.
- Stick head: hook for operating disconnectors, earthing clamp head, head for mounting a voltage detector — heads can be changed as needed.
- Material: fibreglass composite tube that resists bending and does not absorb moisture; check the surface for deep scratches or a peeling protective layer.
Checks before use
- Wipe the entire stick clean and dry with a dry cloth; a wet stick or conductive dust reduces insulation.
- Extend all sections and lock the pins securely; a loose section can slide down during operation.
- Test electrically at intervals set by your organization (see IEC 60855-1 for insulating tubes); discard sticks that are cracked, broken or moisture-damaged.
Use with
Medium- and high-voltage network work needs a complete set: insulating gloves, insulating boots, a portable earthing set, an insulating rubber mat and an insulating stool for the substation. How to choose by voltage class: electrical safety equipment guide.
FAQ
– What is an insulating hot stick used for? — Operating disconnectors and fuse cutouts (FCO), attaching and removing earthing clamps, and checking voltage from a distance — keeping a safe distance between the worker and live parts.
– Should I choose a stick by length or by voltage? — Both: the stick’s voltage class must be greater than or equal to the network voltage, and its length must let you stand outside the safe distance required by electrical safety regulations. Common combinations: 35 kV, 4 m long; 110 kV, 5 m long; 220 kV, 6 m long.
– How should hot sticks be stored? — Wipe clean and dry after use, store in a cloth bag in a dry place without load on the stick; test electrically at intervals set by your organization and discard if cracked, deeply scratched or moisture-damaged.
