The TR1380 is an automatic surface resistance meter with an LED bar readout, compact at 132 × 75 × 35 mm and 110 g. Place it on a mat, worktop, floor, bag or bin and read the resistance range immediately — ideal for QC, IQC and maintenance quick checks every day.
With the built-in electrode the result is in Ω/square; with the external 5 lb electrodes plugged in the result is in Ω, allowing point-to-point, surface-to-ground and volume resistance measurements.

When to choose the surface resistance meter with LED readout
- You only need to know which range a material falls into (conductive, dissipative, insulative) for a quick on-the-spot check → TR1380: compact, read by LEDs.
- You need actual readings for logbooks and reports, with temperature and humidity at the time of measurement → TR1800 digital surface resistance meter.
- You need to test worktops and floors to S4.1 / S7.1 at 2 test voltages with ±3 % accuracy → TR1801 analog (needle) resistance meter.
- Testing mats and worktops to S4.1 requires 5 lb electrodes, measuring to ground at 10 V; if the result is 1×10⁶ Ω or higher, switch to 100 V and measure again. The TR1380 has a test voltage of 10–100 V and accepts external 5 lb electrodes.

Is an LED readout good enough for recording results in a log?
The LEDs show the resistance range, which is enough for a quick pass/fail check. If you need actual figures for reports, use the TR1800 digital meter.
Built-in electrode or 5 lb electrodes – what is the difference?
The built-in electrode gives results in Ω/square (surface resistance). The external 5 lb electrodes give results in Ω: point-to-point, surface-to-ground, volume resistance — the method used for S4.1 and S7.1.
What should I watch out for after measuring?
According to the catalogue: after measuring, unplug the cable and store the external electrodes. Do not test a worktop right after wiping it with a cleaning solution.
